William Hauck grew up in northern Illinois and Indiana and spent a lot of time
communing with nature on the vast prairies of the rural Midwest. It was here he
acquired his deep appreciation for natural energies. A photograph of him at
the age of ten is shown at left.
Hauck's interest in alchemy began while he was in graduate school in mathematics at the University of Vienna (see photo at right), and he has since translated a number of important Latin and German alchemy manuscripts dating back to the fifteenth century.
